The Letting People Talk Kitchens With BBC Radio
The Letting People were recently approached by BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Radio to debate the subject of changes in the British kitchen since the 1960s. The discussion was held in response to an article in The Daily Mail "Why kitchens are shrinking: Average size has reduced by a third since 1960s as popularity of eating out grows". http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2546484/Why-kitchens-shrinking-Average-size-reduced-1960s-popularity-eating-grows.html
Caroline Kempster, Marketing Director of The Letting People, who has seen hundreds of local kitchens, was asked to comment on this article in an interview with Vic Minett (standing in on the BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Annie Othen show).
This turned into a very amusing discussion were Caroline and Vic decided that this article was very London-centric and focussing on young professionals with lots of money for regular eating out. They also discussed that in both their experiences many kitchens in Coventry and Warwickshire were actually increasing in size (by knocking dining rooms into kitchen areas) or were moving into the living room in order to create additional bedrooms or office space.
